The wifi worked great in our room. The service was impeccable. The location could not have been better for the convenience of using mass transit.
Lack of air conditioning and the bathroom could use some updating. The walls were a little too thin so I could hear the neighbors more than I would have liked in the middle of the night, but the hotel is in an older building and that can't be helped.
Good hotel with very good location at the Union Square and very near to the final stop of 2 lines of the Cable Car (Powell and Market streets X-sing). Liked it very much.
Rooms are small but comfortable (anyway they are larger than rooms in many hotels of Paris and Rome).
Very convenient location, friendly staff, great sheets
Room was small, plumbing made spooky noises at night, expected wine tasting
We liked the location, very central to everything!
The sounds of the boilers creaking at 4:00am, just outside the room the entire duration.
I liked everything about my stay at the Chancellor Hotel. The room was lovely, comfortable, the service was good with everything I needed and very central.
The location was perfect for our purpose as we particularly wanted to ride the cable car and visit china town. The reception area was pleasant and comfortable. We particularly liked the fact that there was tea, coffee, iced water and bicuits always available.
The breakfast menu was confusing. Two other guests found the same problem I did on the same morning as I. I would also suggest that the restaurant staff need to actually listen to the guests to avoid mix ups.
Gret location, great price, great service and comfy room.
Loved the location and staff were very helpful! Loved breakfast at Luques as well!
Very noisy at night due to locations
The free coffee and cookies were a treat and also the bar downstairs was good with good bartenders.
Ah i just didnt like that they didnt have all the tv channels...like FX channel ect... but was all good.
Hotel staff friendly. Excellent area to discover and explore San Francisco. Rooms and bathroom clean and tidy. But on the small size Safe area to stop in. Complimentary tea and coffee 24/7 from reception. Free room safes.
Hotel expensive compared to UK hotels. But not compared to other San Francisco hotels. Bathroom very small. Even beat New Yorks bathrooms for being small. No tea and coffe making facilities in rooms. No AC in bedrooms. But ceiling fan adequate for the time of year we were there. Significant trip hazard going into bathroom.
The hotel is old and the infrastructures need some updates. The free internet was so bad, I had to use my mobile phone to get e-mails The hotel is not suitable for business travelers. .
Great location, interesting older hotel but nicely updated.
Clean, closed to every location at the center, heart of the city,
Very nice room, better than the price, especially when compared with chain hotels in the area. Room was on the small side but plenty of room for the two of us. Lobby very nice as well. Excellent, attentive, helpful staff. Onsite restaurant was a tremendous bargain and food was very good as well. No air conditioning, but it is San Francisco and we just opened the windows and used the ceiling fan. We would stay here again.
We were on the rear of the hotel, and the rooms facing Powell might be noisy.
Great location, friendly staff - just what you need in the heart of a fantastic city
Its looking a little old and no fridge.
